As much as I don’t want to see you have scars, knowing that you had to endure something painful, I know that life is fraught with affliction. I know that even if I could protect you from all harm, I would be doing wrong by you. Scars, as painful as they might have been, help us remember the faithfulness of our God. A good God who chooses to have compassion on us and suffer with us. It is a reminder that despite what we might believe, God was there with us. So may there be scars in your life, may there be reminders of the faithfulness of God, that he did not give up but pulled you through dark days. May they be a light of his grace. May they keep you humble yet drive you forward – knowing all success was a gift of God and all scars are reminders of a Love that suffered with you.
